Meet Ledgnd Robin van der Helm

After completing his bachelor’s degree in Plant Sciences and his master’s in Plant Biotechnology, Robin began the search for a job. Through Thijmen, a fellow student, he occasionally came across posts about Ledgnd on LinkedIn, though he didn’t know much about the company at the time. “Ledgnd’s vibe appealed to me, and when Ilona reached out, I was immediately interested,” he says.

Robin was pleasantly surprised by the opportunities and the work culture within the company. “I’ve been working at Ledgnd since February, and it felt more like joining a group of friends than starting at a company,” he says with a smile. The social aspect of Ledgnd is just as important to Robin as the work itself. “We’re all different, but we really connect through the core values. On top of the friendly atmosphere and the chance to continue developing myself, that’s what makes working together so enjoyable.”

“I have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks, which makes it hard to describe a typical workday. But if I had to sum it up in one word, I’d say it’s dynamic.” Setting up dashboards, preparing data sessions, and installing sensors are all part of the job, but Robin also contributes to improving Ledgnd’s internal software. It’s not just his work that’s dynamic, his workplace is too. “During the week, I live with my girlfriend in Wageningen, and on weekends I stay with my parents in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. When I don’t have client meetings, you’ll find me at either the office in Vlaardingen or the location in Utrecht.”

One of Robin’s personal highlights at Ledgnd? “Hosting my first data session at a grower’s site! I really enjoyed it. I got great feedback, and that gave me a real boost in confidence.”

“Then I love to stay active. I play squash, knotsbal, padel, and I occasionally go to the gym. I also regularly meet up with friends to game or have a drink.” Robin enjoys visiting tropical places during his holidays, and there is a specific reason for that. “Last year I got my diving certificate in Curaçao, and I hope to get my advanced certificate in the future. My dream is to go diving at the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.”
