Ledgnd announces co-founder Matthea Rijneker as new CEO

Matthea Rijneker, CEO Ledgnd
Ledgnd, a specialist in data-driven cultivation optimization for the greenhouse industry, has announced the appointment of co-founder Matthea Rijneker as its new Chief Executive Officer. In her new role, she will lead the company into the next phase of international growth and organizational development. Rijneker has been deeply involved with Ledgnd since its founding and was unanimously appointed by the shareholders, management team, and Advisory Board.
In recent years, Ledgnd has evolved significantly. The team expanded, the customer base grew, and the MyLedgnd data platform is now used daily by an increasing number of growers. What began as a consultancy focused on LED lighting has grown into a leading data platform helping growers around the world optimize their cultivation strategies.
A strategic step forward
This leadership transition is a strategic move to support further growth. Co-founder Ramón van de Vrie will continue in his role as Commercial Director, responsible for customer relations and the company’s commercial strategy.
“We’ve made tremendous progress as a team. Appointing Matthea is a logical and powerful step in achieving our shared ambitions,” said Van de Vrie.
Bringing global horticultural expertise
Matthea brings extensive international experience to the role. She previously served as General Manager Africa at Royal FloraHolland and co-founded and managed a large-scale farm in Kenya specializing in superfood production. Her background aligns perfectly with Ledgnd’s global ambitions.
“I deeply believe in Ledgnd’s strength, its people, its technology, and its vision. Together, we’re building a future where data-driven cultivation becomes the global standard. It’s an honor to lead this team into its next growth phase,” said Rijneker.
Shaping the future
Her appointment marks a new chapter in Ledgnd’s development. Earlier this year, the company opened a second office in Utrecht and doubled the number of users on the MyLedgnd platform.
Ledgnd continues to invest in innovations that enable growers to cultivate with increasing precision—driven by both climate and plant control.
