Meet Ledgnd Martin Pisani

Martin is a third-year International Business student at Rotterdam Business School. He joined Ledgnd while seeking an internship at a company where he could gain practical experience, preferably at a start-up with international ambitions. Martin has since completed his internship and has been hired as an International Sales Specialist.

His first impression of Ledgnd was overwhelmingly positive: “I was impressed by the atmosphere, energy, and flexibility. The strong relationships within the team are evident, and it’s clear that everyone enjoys their work. This creates a solid foundation for the company’s growth,” Martin explains.

Martin primarily focuses on researching potential clients abroad. “When conducting market research, I usually concentrate on one country at a time. After completing the research and analyses, I make cold calls and schedule meetings with growers. During these meetings, I accompany Ramón to introduce growers to our services and MyLedgnd. We explain how we can help optimize their cultivation processes.”

When asked what he enjoys most about working at Ledgnd, Martin doesn’t hesitate: “One of the best aspects of working at Ledgnd is the strong relationships among colleagues. The atmosphere is positive, and there’s a great deal of flexibility. I never hesitate to ask for help when needed; everyone is always ready to assist,” Martin shares.

Martin has been with Ledgnd for about six months and has already gained valuable experiences. “I’ve learned more than I ever imagined. My colleagues have been incredibly supportive in helping me grow.” One highlight so far? Signing Ledgnd’s first Danish client. “I see this as an important step in Ledgnd’s expansion into Scandinavia.”

And a fun ambition he’s working on? “I want to beat Ramón at table tennis one day. That’s my goal!”

In the coming years, Martin aims to balance his studies with his work at Ledgnd. “I want to keep contributing to Ledgnd’s growth while completing my education. I’m still studying and have strong ties to both Slovenia and the Netherlands. In the long run, I aspire to start my own business, but for now, I’m happy at Ledgnd. There are plenty of opportunities here, and I feel right at home.”

Martin has a clear message for those new to Ledgnd or considering joining the team: “Ledgnd offers a positive environment, strong collaboration, and numerous growth opportunities. Even if you’re unfamiliar with the horticulture sector, you’ll be surprised by how fascinating and educational it can be.” Additionally, Martin appreciates being part of a company still in its development phase. “It’s a great opportunity to be part of a growing organization where you can truly make a difference,” Martin concludes.

Originally from Slovenia, Martin is currently studying and working in the Netherlands. Back in Slovenia, he lives near the Italian border with his parents, brother, and their King Charles Spaniel, Charlie. In his free time, Martin enjoys playing football and spending time in nature. “In Slovenia, I live close to the coast, so I try to swim almost every afternoon during the summer.”

Martin’s favorite vacation destination? Croatia: “Sailing in Croatia. The coastline is stunning, the food is delicious, and the water is perfect.” And his bucket list? “I’d love to try skydiving someday!”
