In the section ‘Getting to Know Ledgnd,’ we introduce various Ledgnd colleagues. You’ll get a glimpse into their roles at Ledgnd, their motivations, and ambitions. In this edition, we’re getting to know Robin, Front-end Developer at Ledgnd.
Meet Ledgnd Robin Klaassen

From animations to applications
Robin graduated as an animator. While studying at the Grafisch Lyceum, he already enjoyed visualizing ideas, but in the end, it was web development that truly excited him. “I was drawn to coding, especially when combined with the visual aspect.” Front-end development turned out to be the perfect fit: both creative and technical at the same time.
After gaining experience at both small and large agencies, from municipal websites to high-end projects, Robin discovered where he thrives most: in a team that works together to make an impact. When Ilona approached him about Ledgnd, his interest was sparked. And his first impression? “The warm, open atmosphere, but also the ambitious mindset. I could sense that beyond the friendly vibe, there’s real room to make an impact and achieve something meaningful.”
Front-end development and feedback loop
Robin grew up in Maassluis, but these days he lives just a stone’s throw from the office, with a five-minute commute, he’s without a doubt our closest-living Ledgnd. Once at the office, the workday starts with a team meeting, usually over a cup of coffee. The development agenda is reviewed and closely monitored. “Every day I work on front-end development, including transforming data into a readable format. This way, we not only improve the functionality of MyLedgnd, but also enhance the platform’s overall look and feel.” During the lunch break, he likes to step outside, something that gives him fresh energy and new insights to pick up where he left off.
“We’re in close contact with each other every day, so we stay on top of anything that needs to be addressed quickly. Working together with the plant physiologists is also key, after all, they’re the eyes and ears at the growers’ sites. The feedback and needs of our clients help us continue to develop and improve the platform.”

Proud of horticulture
“The only experience I had in horticulture was picking tomatoes in a greenhouse when I was 15, and I occasionally heard about it at home because my father worked in greenhouse construction for a while. Working in horticulture at Ledgnd feels a bit like Dutch pride, it’s a sector with a shared sense of purpose.”
”“Here, I can contribute, learn, and truly make a difference.”

VR for Robin: virtual reality and faraway travels!
Robin has an American partner, which means regular trips to the East Coast of the United States, but his travels don’t stop there. “I’ve seen most of Europe by now and have been to Florida a few times. I’d also love to visit San Francisco, New York, and the Grand Canyon, or travel through the cities of Japan and South Korea.” The wonders of the world are also on his bucket list, and he’s already been able to check off the Great Pyramid of Giza.
Outside of traveling, Robin’s interest in technology and development also plays a role in his personal life. “I have a standalone VR headset that I use for gaming. But I also find peace in doing development work on my own. With my background in animation and web, I regularly work on projects for other people. When I game myself, I usually go for games that involve a lot of logic. That’s what I enjoy the most.”
